The SHIP website uses cookies to improve your website experience. We sometimes place small data files on your computer. These are known as cookies and many website do this. You will see a pop up notice about cookies when you first visit the website.

On the website, we also use a contact form. The contact form will ask for your first name, last name, email address and a message. We will not use your details for any other purpose than responding to your initial query. The SHIP charity endeavor to follow the 1998 Data Protection Act and follow this law when processing your data. We collect your first and last name so we know how to address you when replying to your query. We also require an email address in order to be able to reply to your query.

Additionally we also display our contact email address on every page of the website. We can be contacted on the email address if you prefer to use this method.


Measuring Website usage (Google Analytics)

The SHIP website uses Googles Analytics to collect information about how people use the website. The reason for this is that we want to see how we meet users needs and to understand how we can improve the website. Google Analytics will store information on how you visited the website i.e through a search engine, how long you spend on the website, what pages you visit and what you click on. We do not collect or store any personal information about you ( name or address) so we cannot identify who you are. We do not allow Google to use or share any of our Analytics data.

Third parties

SHIP does link to external websites such as Virgin Money Giving and Ebay. SHIP cannot be responsible  for third party content. We use Virgin Money Giving as our main platform for handling donations to the charity. We link to our Ebay page where you can purchase items that the charity sell.
